Privacy Policy

MailMate is a local-first desktop app for organizing client emails, files, quotes, and follow-up notes. This policy explains what information is handled by the product and how it is used.

Local-first storage

MailMate stores customer profiles, synced email metadata, message content, notes, generated documents, and downloaded attachments on the user’s device by default. MailMate does not operate a hosted cloud database for these customer records in the early access product.

Email account access

When a user connects an email account, MailMate uses the account details provided by the user to fetch mail through IMAP and send mail through SMTP. Credentials are stored locally and encrypted with operating-system storage when available.

AI features

If a user enables AI features, selected email or customer text may be sent to the AI provider configured by the user in order to generate summaries, drafts, or reports. Users should review the privacy terms of their selected AI provider before enabling these features.

Payment information

Payments are processed by a third-party merchant of record or payment provider. MailMate does not store full card numbers. The payment provider may share limited purchase information, such as customer email, product purchased, license status, and transaction identifiers.

Support communication

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, name, message content, and any diagnostic information you choose to send. This information is used only to respond to support requests and improve the product.

Data deletion

Because MailMate stores product data locally by default, users can delete their local MailMate data from their device. For payment or support records held by service providers, contact us at hi@yeshi.app.
